Pakistan Announces Playing XI for Asia Cup 2023 Super Four Match Against India
The cricket world is abuzz as Pakistan prepares to lock horns with arch-rivals India in their second Super Four match of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The Green Shirts have announced the same playing XI — which faced Bangladesh on Wednesday — for the match against India:
- Babar Azam (c)
- Imam-ul-Haq
- Fakhar Zaman
- Mohammad Rizwan
- Agha Salman
- Iftikhar Ahmed
- Shadab Khan
- Faheem Ashraf
- Naseem Shah
- Shaheen Shah Afridi
- Haris Rauf
After beating Bangladesh by seven wickets in their first Super Four match, the Men in Green will look forward to continuing their excellent form in the Asia Cup amid rain predictions.
According to The Weather Channel, thunderstorms are expected daily in Colombo till September 17.
It's worth noting that the group-stage clash between Pakistan and India during the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 was washed out in Pallekele on September 2.
What Happens If Rain Washes Out Remaining Super Four Fixtures?
Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets on Wednesday to begin their Super Four campaign. If the remaining Super Four matches are washed out, Pakistan will qualify for the final with four points.
In case of washouts, Sri Lanka and India will be tied on three points each, along with the same Net Run Rate, which is why a coin toss will be done to determine which team will play the final.
Bangladesh will only have two points, since they have already lost one game in the Super Four, in case of washouts and thus will not be in the race for the final.
The trophy will be shared if the final of the Asia Cup 2023 is also washed out on September 17.
