US Visa Interview Waiver Guide
If you're an F or J visa holder who has maintained status for at least five months, and you're applying for an H1B visa with a prior J visa and a 212(e) waiver, you may be eligible for an interview waiver. This guide outlines the steps to follow:
Eligibility Criteria
- Your current passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended arrival in the United States.
- You should have your most recently issued U.S. visa in your passport.
- You must have a DS-160 nonimmigrant visa application confirmation sheet.
- Keep your MRV fee receipt for visa processing.
- Provide a recent 2x2-inch photograph with a white or off-white background and no eyeglasses.
- Include your resume/CV.
- Attach a copy of your I-20 (F1/F2).
- Include a copy of your 212(e) waiver (for H visa applicants with previous J visas).
- Submit your original DS-2019 (J1/J2).
- Include copies of petition papers: I-129, I-797 notice of approval (H and L visas).
Please note that meeting these criteria doesn't guarantee a visa issuance or interview waiver.
How to Apply
- Determine your visa type based on your situation.
- Complete the DS-160 Form accurately.
- Pay the visa fee following the provided options.
- Log in to your profile to schedule an appointment.
